Twas on the 9th of June, in eighteen hundred an’ sixty-two, on a summer’s afternoon, when the Blaydon Races took place Newcastle Upon Tyne. But more importantly it was the date that toon fanatic Marc decided join in matrimony with the lovely Georgina. A date chosen by groom Marc due to being a true Geordie and Newcastle United supporter. Although I'm not so sure Georgina was fully aware of the reason behind the date!
Morning preparations began
Whilst Marc was getting suited and booted with his twin brother and best man, Chris, preparations were underway for Georgina, who had hired an amazing space in Peckham as featured in Grand Designs. Once the bridal were ready to go, they called in the one and only Traditional London Black Cab available in the whole of South London, and headed towards the ceremony.

There was something very special about Marc & Georgina's wedding, besides the expected. They tied the knot at one of my all time favourite wedding venues: The Asylum. Which is located in Peckham, South East London.
Upon arrival at the church, Georgina stopped to enjoy a brief moment with her dad before he walked her gracefully down the aisle towards Marc, who was waiting tentatively for her in his dazzling Gucci loafers.
The Asylum is a grade 2 listed building, built in 1826 by the Licensed Victualers Benevolent Institution. The walls are beaten and broken due to the building being bombed during WW2. It showcases some stunning architectural beauty. During the ceremony, light spilled in from all four corners, generously covering everyone inside.
Marc, Georgina and their wedding guests shortly made their way outside to enjoy some canapés and a complimentary Aperol Spritz, probably enjoyed even more due to the unrelenting summer sun beating down. Shortly after, guests hopped into a Traditional Red London Bus and jetted across the city. Meanwhile, bottles of fizz are promptly popped and poured.
Finally the party arrived at a serene venue adjacent to a canal, where the wedding breakfast took place. Shortly after this this, Marc, Georgina's Dad, best man Chris and the lovely Georgina all said a few words.
Furthermore, they danced well into the night, while geordie funk and soul legends Smoove and Turrell provided the music all night long.
